Wild Heroes

A family-friendly tabletop RPG in the spirit of Dungeons & Dragons (D&D), created so parents can share real RPG adventures with their children. Official site: https://wildheroesrpg.com

Wild Heroes is a cooperative tabletop role-playing game set in the world of Arkaron. Players take on anthropomorphic animal heroes, roll dice, face challenges, and build stories together. It is designed for children roughly ages 8 to 14 and for the adults who play with them: clear and welcoming, never dumbed down.

The creators are Mr. and Mrs. Horvath. They grew up around D&D and Dungeons & Dragons tables. Those campaigns became part of their family culture. When their own children were old enough to join, they looked for a Dungeons & Dragons style RPG truly made for kids and for childhood education: imagination, cooperation, meaningful choices, and age-appropriate stories. They could not find one that fit. So they created Wild Heroes.

Wild Heroes is the game they wished they had when they first invited their children to the table. Around the table, children discover that their ideas matter. Courage does not mean never feeling afraid. Mistakes can reveal new paths. The greatest victories are often achieved together. It is a way to share stories across generations, now, through adventures created for younger adventurers.

RPG stands for role-playing game. It is a cooperative adventure game where you and your friends are the protagonists. The group's unity is what wins the day. Many challenges call for teamwork: monster hordes, traps, and rough terrain only give way when everyone acts together. You pick your hero and decide what they say and how they act when danger hits. Picture a movie or cartoon where you call the shots. One player takes the role of Game Master. They describe the world and play everyone else, from the tavern keeper to the monsters and villains along the way.

The first commercial material is in development. Three pieces are made for the table: the starter book Paws and Power (one-star heroes and first missions in Arkaron), spell and item cards (moves and spells you choose, use, and recover on a rest), and hero miniatures. The current Paws and Power cover on the site is temporary. There are no promised dates. Real news goes out by email and on the official channels. In the Wild Heroes universe, you and your friends play adventurers who explore Arkaron on missions and discoveries. The heroes are anthropomorphic animals: they look like people, have hands, wear clothes, and speak. They form their own villages and cities. There are no humans in Arkaron. Beyond the Arkarians, monsters of many kinds roam the continent. Each people has its own origins and customs. In the great cities, and above all in the capital Entre-Rios, these peoples mix completely.

The inherited speech of Arkaron has two magical registers that share one grammar and one lexicon. Both channel Aeter. Doalavena is the forgotten ancient form, known to few masters; it marks the verb with a prefix, the pronoun with a suffix (mari becomes maris), and a noun with an optional middle geminate; eloa stays unchanged. Lavena is the practical form used in enchantments and battle cries, without those marks. Compact names join a semantic root to a classifier. Generated names are table creations, not setting facts. Arkaron remains the worked example: ark + -aron. Portuguese hub: https://wildheroesrpg.com/pt/o-universo/lavena

Arkarians form the base of society and split into three known lineages.

Wild Heroes has many heroes. Four have official names and stories used in the books and games. Players may change a hero's name or backstory. The table is theirs. Official classes in the material are Warrior, Mage, Archer, and Priest.

Hero abilities fit into four skill pillars, in this order, so the table resolves any action without long rule tables.

Spells and special moves become Ability Cards, split across the four classes, with a power rating from one to five stars. Paws and Power uses only one-star cards and one-star heroes. The character sheet shows the Sheet Limit: how many spells or special moves the hero can use before needing to rest. The player picks that many cards from their deck as the Active Deck and keeps them face up. When a spell or move is activated, the card is turned face down (Use and Recharge). It stays unavailable until the character takes a rest. Everyday action uses the four pillars. Cards handle the strategic moment.

In Arkaron, danger goes beyond villains and Arkarian political strife. The ecosystem holds everything from gigantic beasts worshiped as ancestors to aberrations born from disastrous magical experiments. The bestiary groups that fauna as follows.
